Specialist SEN School – Preston – Up to £600 per week – Full-Time – September Start

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

Do you have experience in SEN, care, support work, youth work, sports coaching, or mentoring that you would like to apply within a specialist school?

A supportive specialist SEN school in Preston is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced support staff, as well as graduates looking to develop careers in SEN Education, Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Speech & Language Therapy, or Social Work.

The Role – SEN Teaching Assistant

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work with pupils with a variety of additional needs, potentially including Autism, ADHD, MLD, SLD, speech and communication difficulties, and SEMH needs.

You will provide 1:1, small-group, and classroom support, adapting your approach to meet the individual needs of each pupil. Working closely with teachers and specialist staff, you will follow EHCPs, deliver targeted interventions, and help identify and remove barriers to learning.

Building positive relationships will be central to the role. You will encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence, communication skills, and greater engagement with their education.
