Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualised support and tailored learning experiences for students with special educational needs and disabilities
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and the wider school community to develop and implement effective teaching strategies
  • Foster an inclusive and nurturing environment that celebrates diversity and empowers students to reach their full potential
  • Assist with the delivery of engaging and interactive lessons, adapting materials and activities to meet the unique needs of each student
  • Monitor student progress, maintain detailed records, and contribute to the ongoing assessment and evaluation of learning outcomes
  • Support students with personal care, mobility, and other daily living activities as needed
  • Actively participate in professional development opportunities to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably with a focus on supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities
  • Strong understanding of the diverse learning needs of students with SEND and the ability to adapt teaching approaches accordingly
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
  • Demonstrable creativity and problem-solving skills, with the flexibility to overcome challenges and think outside the box
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries
  • A relevant teaching or learning support qualification (e.g. , NVQ, BTEC, or equivalent)
  • Willingness to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
Requirements:
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Relevant professional references.
  • Previous SEND experience is desirable but not essential.
