Job summary

Supply Desk is seeking an EYFS SEND primary teaching assistant in the Winchester suburbs. The role runs 08:30–15:30, with a daily rate of £85.50–£95 depending on experience. A driving licence is required as the location is accessible primarily by car.

Job Title: EYFS SEND primary teaching assistant

Starting September 2026. Hours: 08:30 - 15:30. Salary: £85.50 - £95 per day (depending on experience). Location: Winchester Suburbs (north Winchester Suburbs).

Job Description

The Teaching Assistant role will be a 1:1 role supporting a Year R and Year 1 with additional needs. These children will be worked with 1:1 to support their routines, regulation, academic and social needs. The role is full time and requires a driving licence as the location is difficult to get to via public transport.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with teachers to assist in planning and delivering engaging lessons across various subjects.
  • Provide one‑on‑one or small group support to students, including those with special educational needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Assist in the creation of learning materials and resources.
  • Support the teacher in behaviour management and maintaining a disciplined, respectful classroom atmosphere.
  • Contribute to the tracking and assessment of student progress.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role within an educational setting is desirable.
  • A passion for education and supporting students' academic and personal development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude towards challenges.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
  • Relevant qualifications in Teaching Assistance or Education are advantageous but not essential.
