Teaching Personnel Ltd. are seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to work on a supply basis across primary schools in South Tyneside, including Jarrow, Hebburn, and South Shields.

You will support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, helping them access learning and participate in class activities. Flexible full-time and part-time opportunities with competitive daily rates are available.

Experience or willingness to obtain Enhanced DBS is required.

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to work on a supply basis across a range of welcoming primary schools throughout South Tyneside.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for flexible work while making a positive difference to children with additional needs. You will support pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs, helping them to access learning and thrive both academically and socially within the classroom.

The Role:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
• Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language difficulties
• Assist class teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
• Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupil engagement
• Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies
• Adapt to different school settings across South Tyneside

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN, either in education, care, youth work, or support settings
• A patient, nurturing, and resilient approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
• Flexible and adaptable to work across different schools and year groups
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
