Job summary

Operam Education is partnering with a welcoming primary school in Feltham to recruit a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant for a full-time, term-time role. You will provide dedicated 1:1 support and help the pupil engage across the school day.

The role requires a calm, proactive individual with strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with pupils, staff and families. An enhanced DBS check and QTS/equivalent may be required as part of safeguarding.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs in a school or similar setting.
  • Calm, positive, and resilient approach to supporting pupils with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff and families.
  • Confidence in adapting to individual needs and responding flexibly throughout the day.
  • Proactive attitude and willingness to work collaboratively as part of a school team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.
  • Support the pupil's academic, social and emotional development.
  • Implement strategies recommended by the SENCO and external professionals.
  • Adapt learning activities to meet the pupil's individual needs.
  • Encourage independence while offering guidance and reassurance.
  • Build a positive, trusting relationship with the pupil to promote engagement and confidence.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Support positive behaviour using nurturing approaches.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for the pupil.
  • Assist with personal care where required (if applicable).

Pay: £515-£550 per week

Start Date: 3rd September

Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only

Main Responsibilities
  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.
