  • Help students with academic tasks, social skills, and emotional regulation.
  • Support students with personal care and mobility if required.
  • Assist in managing student behaviour using positive reinforcement strategies.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment where students feel valued and respected.

  • Work closely with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure effective communication and the best outcomes for students.

About You:

  • A genuine passion for working with children with Special Educational Needs.
  • Previous experience supporting students with SEN, either in a school or other educational setting, is desirable.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt your approach to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A proactive, flexible attitude, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • An understanding of various SEN, including autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • A Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent) is preferred but not essential.
  • Experience working with students with autism or emotional/behavioural difficulties.
  • A First Aid qualification (or willingness to undergo training) is beneficial.

Why Join Us?

  • A welcoming, inclusive, and supportive school community.
  • Opportunities for ongoing professional development and training.
  • A chance to make a real, lasting impact on the lives of students with SEN.
  • Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
