Job summary

Pioneer People Ltd in the Rubery area is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join welcoming primary schools on a long-term basis. You will support pupils with a range of needs across EYFS to KS2, building trusted relationships and contributing to a calm, inclusive classroom.

You will typically provide 1:1 support or small groups, adapting to each school's approach while promoting academic and social progress.

Qualifications

  • Experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant in a primary school.
  • Confidence supporting children with additional needs.
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
  • Calm, patient and adaptable approach.
  • Genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support, small intervention groups, or classroom assistance across EYFS/KS1/KS2.
  • Support pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech, Language and Communication Needs, SEMH, and Moderate to Complex Learning Needs.
  • Build strong relationships and contribute to a supportive, inclusive school environment.

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a long-term role where you can make a real difference?

We're working with a number of welcoming and supportive primary schools in Rubery that are looking for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to join their teams on a long-term basis. These are fantastic opportunities for candidates who are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and are looking for consistency in a school where they can build strong relationships and become part of the team.

The Role

You’ll be supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 or KS2 with a range of Special Educational Needs, including:

  • Autism (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs
  • SEMH
  • Moderate to Complex Learning Needs

Depending on the school, you’ll provide 1:1 support, work with small intervention groups, or support pupils within the classroom to help them achieve both academically and socially.

We're Looking For
  • Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant within a primary school
  • Confidence supporting children with additional needs
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • A calm, patient and adaptable approach
  • A genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential
