Job description

About the school: Nestled in the heart of Enfield, our modern, 4-form entry primary school is dedicated to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for all our students. Rated as "Good with Outstanding Features" by Ofsted, our school boasts spacious, well-equipped classrooms, cutting-edge facilities, and a vibrant school community that celebrates diversity and inclusion. We pride ourselves on our commitment to fostering a love of learning in every child and supporting their unique needs and talents.

About the role: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN-TA) to join our team and work closely with non-verbal students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This role focuses on providing 1:1 support to students across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, helping them to engage with the curriculum and develop essential communication and social skills. You will play a crucial role in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment, tailored to meet the specific needs of each child.

Application Requirements:

• Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), particularly non-verbal students, in a school setting.
• A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting children's individual needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of professionals and parents.
• A commitment to inclusive education and a passion for helping every child reach their full potential.
• Relevant qualifications in education, special educational needs, or a related field are desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to non-verbal students with ASD, using tailored strategies to enhance their learning and development.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and adapt learning materials to suit the needs of each student.
• Use a range of communication techniques, including visual aids and alternative communication methods, to support students' engagement and interaction.
• Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued and supported.

Perks and Benefits:

Join our welcoming school community and enjoy a role that is both challenging and incredibly rewarding. We offer a supportive work environment with opportunities for professional development and training in the latest SEN strategies and techniques. Benefit from our modern facilities and resources designed to help you deliver the best possible support to your students. Additionally, enjoy a competitive daily rate and the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children who need it most. This is more than just a job; it's a chance to be part of something special and contribute to a school that truly values each and every member of its team
