St Martins School is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The role involves fostering a positive learning environment and contributing to the wider school community. Candidates should have experience with SEND and be passionate about empowering students. St Martins School and Horizons 6th Form is an 11-19 Special School in Derby, with a diverse student profile of children and young people with various learning difficulties and complex needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and other Learning Disabilities.
St Martins shares a site with Noel-Baker Academy in Alvaston, while Horizons 6th Form is based in Derby city centre. Our Supported Internship programme for Year 14 students is at the Royal Derby Hospital. We received our fourth consecutive 'Outstanding' OFSTED in October 2024 and continue to aspire to high standards for our students and staff.
Our aim is to Shape Successful Futures for our students, whether in the classroom or playground, believing every moment in school is a valuable opportunity for development. We support staff development and offer opportunities for progression.
The working hours are: Monday and Thursday – 8:15am-4:00pm, Tuesday and Wednesday – 8:15am-4:45pm, Friday – 8:15am-2:45pm.

Working hours: 37 hours/week, 38 weeks + 5 INSET days (total 39 weeks).
