Are you passionate about supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? GSL Education is excited to offer a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team in Westminster. Starting in September 2024, this contract/long-term role allows you to make a meaningful impact in a supportive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities of an SEMH Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide individualised support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Assist in developing and implementing effective learning strategies.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting support as necessary.
  • Manage and support students with diverse behavioural and learning needs.

Requirements for the SEMH Teaching Assistant Role:

  • Experience working with children or young people in a SEN school setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting student development.
  • Ability to manage and support students with challenging behaviour.
  • A current enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for a new one.
