SEN Teaching Assistant (Permanent, Full-time)

Location: Bury St Edmunds

Salary: GBP19,000 - GBP22,000 per annum.

About The Role:

As a Teaching Assistant at this specialist SEN school, you'll play a vital role in providing essential support to students with a diverse range of learning needs. This fulfilling and varied role involves:

  1. Working closely with individuals and small groups, both inside and outside the classroom, to deliver engaging learning activities.
  2. Implementing tailored learning plans and strategies developed in collaboration with teachers and therapists.
  3. Assisting students with their personal care needs (as required) with dignity and respect.
  4. Building positive relationships with students, fostering their confidence, independence, and social skills.
  5. Communicating effectively with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning experience for each child.

About You:

  1. You have a genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs and a belief in inclusive education.
  2. You are patient, understanding, and empathetic, with a warm and nurturing approach.
  3. You possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and behaviour management skills.
  4. Previous experience working in an SEN setting is desirable, but not essential, as full training will be provided.
