Job summary

Smile Education Recruitment is seeking Teaching Assistants for Endeavour Multi Academy Trust across Burton Upon Trent for the new academic year starting in September.

The roles offer flexibility, day-to-day cover, and opportunities to gain experience in SEND settings within multiple schools.

Qualifications

• Hold a minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Minimum 6 months UK-based experience working with children in a school or related setting.
• Provide at least 2 years of references, including one who can comment on work with children.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willing to apply for a new DBS.

Responsibilities

• Support students to achieve their full potential in a nurturing, inclusive environment.
• Day-to-day cover across different schools and year groups.
• Assist teachers with learning activities and classroom management.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students to achieve their full potential in a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

Essential Requirements

• Hold a minimumLevel 2 Teaching Assistant qualification(or equivalent)
• Have a minimum of6 months' UK-based experienceworking with children in a school, childcare, or residential setting
• Be able to provide a minimum of2 years' worth of references, including at least one referee who can comment on your interaction and work with children
• Hold anEnhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for a new DBS through Smile Education
• Have a genuine passion for supporting the care, wellbeing, and education of children and young people
• Be able to immerse yourself in school life and become a positive role model for students
• Demonstrate a flexible and adaptable approach, understanding that no two days are the same
• Have the confidence and resilience to manage challenging behaviour and effectively de-escalate situations when required
• Be able to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a wider school team
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Be committed to promoting positive outcomes for students with SEND
