Job summary

Opus Teach is recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a local primary school in Ipswich.

You will support pupils in a SEN unit of 12, with start on 3 September 2026 and end on 23 October 2026, 08:45–15:15, Monday–Friday; part-time consideration is possible.

The role involves working with children requiring additional support, alongside a friendly school team and a real-time booking system for managing placements.

Qualifications

• Interest in working with children and the education sector.
• Previous teaching or classroom experience is advantageous.
• Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

Opus Teach is a supply agency based in Ipswich, which is wholly owned by Suffolk County Council. We are currently recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a local primary school. We are looking for a reliable and professional SEN Teaching Assistant who is ready to make a real difference in supporting pupils. You will be working alongside other adults in a SEN unit with 12 children.This is a temporary position.

Start date: 3rd September 2026 End date: 23rd October Preferred working hours: 8.45 - 15.15, Monday-Friday. Although part time can be considered.

You will need:

• A keen interest in working with children and a passion for the education industry
• Successful previous teaching or classroom experience - Advantageous but not essential
• An up-to-date enhanced DBS (if you do not have one but are still interested, please get in touch)
• Suitable professional references from previous employment
