We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant school community in Brighton. Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Brighton & Hove

Contract Type: Full time

Role Overview:

A Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the educational and social development of students with special needs. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to provide support to children with additional needs. You will play a key role in helping students with their work and supporting them in their day-to-day activities within the school. Whether working 1:1 with individual students or guiding small groups, you will assist them in completing assigned tasks and activities. This position as a SEN Teaching Assistant is a fantastic opportunity make a difference to young people with additional needs, helping them overcome challenges and reach their full potential academically and emotionally.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Previous experience working with children with additional needs or a strong desire to work with such children.
  • The ability to follow EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans) or other educational plans designed to carer to individual learning needs.
  • A genuine passion for making a positive impact on the lives of students with Special Educational Needs.
  • The ability to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, foster the growth and development of every child.
  • Patience, empathy and understanding to support student's diverse learning requirements.
  • A proactive and flexible approach, capable of adapting to various situation and challenges that may arise.
  • A current DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
  • The ability to provide two professional references.
