Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support children and young people in a classroom setting. The role focuses on aiding pupils with additional learning needs and fostering an inclusive learning environment.

The ideal candidate will have patience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work closely with teachers and other professionals to promote pupils' development and independence.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN setting.
• Patience, understanding and able to build positive relationships with pupils.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, proactive and passionate about supporting children's learning and development.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with additional learning needs in the classroom.
• Providing one-to-one and small-group support where required.
• Helping pupils access learning activities and develop independence.
• Working closely with teaching staff and other professionals.
• Supporting positive behaviour and creating an inclusive learning environment.

Job description

The ideal candidate will:

• Have experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN setting.
• Be patient, understanding and able to build positive relationships with pupils.
• Have good communication and teamwork skills.
• Be reliable, proactive and passionate about supporting children's learning and development.
• Hold a current Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
