Job summary

Academics is seeking an empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant with a focus on Autism to support students in Chelmsford. You will provide targeted assistance, adapt materials, monitor progress, and offer emotional guidance to help learners thrive within an inclusive environment.

Working closely with teachers and parents, you will implement individualised learning plans (IEPs) and promote social inclusion, supporting students in both one-on-one and small-group settings with patience and sensitivity.

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, particularly with students on the Autism spectrum.
  • Strong empathy, patience and genuine passion for helping students with Autism succeed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team, adapting to meet each student's needs.
  • Experience implementing individualised learning plans (IEPs) and supporting students in one-on-one and group settings.
