Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are looking for a caring, resilient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming specialist setting on the Wirral. You will be supporting pupils with a range of complex needs and will help them engage with learning, develop communication and independence, and regulate emotions throughout the school day.

Some pupils may require personal care; previous SEN, care, support work or youth work experience is valuable.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with additional or complex needs is helpful.
• Strong patience, empathy and reliability are essential.
• Transferable experience from care, support work or youth work is valued.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils to engage with learning activities and develop communication.
• Help pupils develop independence and regulate emotions.
• Provide personal care if required, following safeguarding guidelines.
• Work within a specialist setting with consistency for the same pupils.

SEN Teaching Assistant - Wirral

Tradewind Recruitment are looking for a caring, resilient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming specialist setting on the Wirral.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys making a genuine difference to pupils with additional needs and wants the security of a full-time, long-term role rather than short-term day-to-day work.

You will be supporting pupils with a range of complex needs, including Autism (\"ASD\"), Severe Learning Difficulties (\"SLD\"), and Moderate Learning Difficulties (\"MLD\"). The role will involve helping pupils to engage with learning, develop communication and independence, regulate emotions and get the most from their school day.

Some pupils require additional physical and personal support, so personal care may form part of the role.

The role:

• Full-time SEN Teaching Assistant position
• Starting ASAP
• Long-term booking running until at least end of 2026

We would love to hear from candidates with experience in SEN, care, support work, residential care, youth work or similar environments. Previous school experience is useful, but it is not essential if you have strong transferable experience supporting individuals with additional or complex needs.
