Job summary

The Propeller Academy Trust is seeking caring, motivated Teaching Assistants to support pupils with SEND at Fitzwaryn School and its satellite provision. You will help with learning activities, therapies and IEP targets, and assist with enrichment outings while fostering wellbeing and independence.

GCSE English and maths are required, and experience with EHCPs is a plus. Flexible hours including part-time options may be available to cover essential start and end times.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young people (school, care, youth work).
  • Calm, patient, motivated and a strong team player.
  • Experience with EHCPs or additional needs is a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with SLD, PMLD and ASD in classroom and across school.
  • Assist with learning activities, therapy programmes and IEP targets.
  • Support enrichment activities (swimming, PE, visits, horseback riding).
  • Provide personal and intimate care when needed.
  • Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and independence.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, families and therapists.

Job description

Working pattern: 8:45-15:15 Monday-Friday, including a 30 minutes unpaid lunch break. We support flexible working and will consider part-time hours, as long as availability includes the beginning and/and end of each working day, which are essential for this role.

  • Support pupils with SLD, PMLD and ASD in the classroom and across school

  • Provide personal and intimate care when needed
  • Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and independence
