Job Description:

Your new company

Hays Education has recently seen an increased need for local Special Educational Needs Teachers in schools across Northamptonshire for day-to-day and long-term supply, with the potential for permanent contracts.

We work with a number of schools across Northamptonshire, covering Northampton, Corby, Kettering, Wellingborough, Rushden, Daventry, Towcester, Brackley, and surrounding areas. As a Teacher working through Hays, you will have local work in your preferred area, focusing only on schools you choose.

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a SEN Secondary School in Kettering for students aged 11-18. The school offers unique facilities like a hair and beauty salon, an on-site bungalow, and an emotional support dog. They have developed a bespoke curriculum to support students' development into adulthood, with excellent sensory facilities to encourage engagement.

Your new role

We are seeking a full-time Special Educational Needs Teacher to join the team immediately on a temporary to permanent basis. We want passionate individuals who thrive in challenging environments and are dedicated to supporting students' social, life, and independence skills.

The successful candidate will make a positive impact on children with diverse care needs and personalities, building trusting relationships and motivating students through personalized support in learning and daily living tasks.

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status and be confident working with children and young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs or challenging behaviors. We welcome applications from experienced teachers and ECTs who have experience working with children, as well as graduates with relevant degrees and experience.

Please note that we are unable to support overseas applications for these roles.

What you'll get in return

This position offers a rewarding opportunity to work in a fantastic school with diverse and impactful work with excellent students. Benefits include:

  • Competitive pay rates
  • Holiday pay and pension contributions
  • Access to the Hays Hub mobile app for managing bookings
  • Ongoing professional development and support
  • A dedicated team of professionals available to assist you
  • Refer-a-Friend scheme worth £250 in high street vouchers
