Aspire People are seeking an experienced SEN Teacher to join a welcoming middle school in the SY5 area of Shrewsbury. The role requires delivering differentiated lessons and supporting pupils with diverse needs to foster an inclusive learning environment.

QTS is highly desirable; strong SEN experience and robust communication skills are essential for building positive relationships and managing behaviours effectively. This position offers flexible contract options and a rewarding school setting.

Qualifications

  • Strong and recent SEN teaching experience.
  • Experience working within a school environment.
  • Good understanding of SEND and differentiated teaching.
  • Confidence managing challenging behaviour where required.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Patient, nurturing and consistent approach.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons.
  • Supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs.
  • Adapting learning to meet individual pupil needs.
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
  • Managing behaviour using positive and consistent strategies.
  • Working closely with teaching assistants and other school staff.
  • Monitoring pupil progress and contributing to individual support plans.
  • Creating a calm, structured and nurturing classroom environment.
