Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking an SEN Teacher to join our Brentwood-based SEN schools, supporting both primary and secondary learners with additional needs. Role is full-time, long-term with potential to become permanent.

You will plan and deliver engaging lessons, adapt content to diverse needs, and work closely with a multidisciplinary team to monitor progress and implement EHCP targets.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • PGCE or equivalent training.
  • Experience or strong interest in SEN education (primary or secondary).
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour support skills.
  • Patient, resilient, and adaptable approach.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and supporting pupils with additional needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, accessible lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Teach pupils across primary and/or secondary SEN settings depending on placement.
  • Adapt curriculum content to meet a wide range of additional needs and abilities.
  • Create a safe, structured learning environment.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress.
  • Use a range of strategies to support communication, behaviour, and emotional regulation.
  • Work closely with SEN support staff, therapists, and wider school teams.
  • Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress in line with school expectations.
  • Implement and follow EHCP targets and individual learning plans.
  • Support positive behaviour management strategies across the classroom.
