Job description

Our Enhanced Provision supports children with a range of additional needs, with many of our pupils having autism, speech, language and communication needs, and complex sensory needs. We are looking for an exceptional teacher who understands that every child communicates, learns and experiences the world differently, and who is passionate about creating an environment where every child can thrive. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher with strong specialist knowledge who can combine high expectations with highly personalised approaches, ensuring that our pupils are supported to develop their communication, independence, emotional regulation, social interaction and engagement in learning.   • Has significant experience of working with children with SEND, particularly autism and complex needs.
  • Has a strong understanding of autism, sensory processing and speech, language and communication needs.
  • Has experience of, or a strong understanding of, Attention Autism, Intensive Interaction and Makaton.
  • Understands the importance of communication and can use a range of approaches to support verbal and non-verbal communication.
  • Is skilled at developing trusting relationships with children and understanding the communication behind behaviour.
  • Can create engaging, structured and highly differentiated learning experiences.
  • Has high expectations for all pupils and is committed to recognising and celebrating every small step of progress.
  • Can demonstrate effective teaching and raising standards across all areas of the curriculum.
  • Can work effectively with teaching assistants, families and a range of external professionals.
  • Is reflective, resilient, creative and willing to continually develop their specialist practice.
  • Is passionate about inclusion and ensuring that children with SEND are valued as full and active members of our school community., We are looking for someone who will bring expertise, enthusiasm, creativity and compassion to this role. Most importantly, we want a teacher who sees the child first, recognises their strengths and potential, and is committed to finding the right way for every child to communicate, learn and succeed.
