Job Title: SEN Teacher (ASD, MLD, SLD, SLCN Specialist)
Location: Wimbledon, London
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: ASAP / September 2024

Teaching Personnel is working with an outstanding specialist school in Wimbledon that caters to children aged 4-12 with a range of special educational needs, includingAutism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN).

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experiencedSEN Teacherto join their dedicated team, providing tailored education and fostering a nurturing learning environment for pupils with complex needs.

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils withASD, MLD, SLD, and SLCN.

  • Use a range of specialist strategies and interventions to support communication, social skills, and academic progress.

  • Work collaboratively withTeaching Assistants, Therapists, and SENCOto implement EHCPs and monitor pupil progress.

  • Create acalm, structured, and inclusiveclassroom environment that promotes wellbeing and learning.

  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and external professionals to ensure holistic support.

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with experience teachingSEN (ASD, MLD, SLD, or SLCN).

  • Strong knowledge ofSEND frameworks, EHCPs, and adaptive teaching strategies.

  • Experience withPECS, Makaton, TEACCH, or other communication aids(desirable).

  • Patience, resilience, and achild-centred approachto teaching.

  • A commitment to ongoing professional development in SEN education.

  • Supportive and experienced leadership team.
