Job summary

Randstad Education in Taunton is seeking compassionate SEN Supply Teachers to support mainstream schools and specialist SEN provisions across the Taunton area. You will deliver differentiated lessons for diverse SEN needs and collaborate with school teams to implement IEPs while maintaining safeguarding standards.

Flexibility to work day-to-day across both Primary and Secondary settings, with DBS updated via the Update Service, and a competitive daily rate of £130-£160, paid weekly via PAYE.

Qualifications

  • QTS or QTLS required; ECTs/NQTs with SEN experience welcome.
  • Experience with SEMH, ADHD, ASC, or Learning Disabilities.
  • Flexibility to work across Primary and Secondary settings on short notice.
  • Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver differentiated SEN lessons across EYFS to KS4.
  • Provide tailored support for SEMH, ADHD, ASC, and LD.
  • Apply trauma-informed behaviour management to maintain a safe classroom.
  • Collaborate with HLTA/TA/SENCO to deliver IEPs and safeguard pupils.

SEN Supply Teacher (Primary & Secondary) - Taunton

Are you a compassionate, adaptable, and skilled Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher looking for flexible day-to-day work? We are seeking dedicated educators to join our team to support mainstream schools and specialist SEN provisions across the Taunton area. Responsibilities:
  • Adaptable Teaching: Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons planned by permanent staff, tailored to meet diverse SEN needs across EYFS and Key Stages 1-4.
  • Specialist Support: Provide tailored support for pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs), ADHD, Autism (ASC), and Learning Disabilities (SLD/MLD).
  • Behaviour Support: Use positive behaviour management strategies and trauma-informed approaches to de-escalate challenging situations and foster a safe classroom environment.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs), Teaching Assistants (TAs), and school SENCOs to deliver individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Safe Working: Maintain high standards of safeguarding and follow all school policies regarding pupil well-being.
Qualifications:
  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) is required. (ECTs/NQTs with relevant SEN experience are welcome to apply).
  • Experience: Proven track record of working with children or young people with SEMH, ADHD, Autism, or Learning Disabilities.
  • Flexibility: Comfortable stepping into different school environments across both Primary and Secondary settings at short notice.
  • Key Skills: Excellent communication, emotional resilience, patience, and a calm, empathetic approach under pressure.
  • DBS: An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
