Job summary

Norton College is seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to support pupils aged 11-19 with SEMH, autism and complex learning needs. You’ll deliver personalised lessons, foster strong student relationships and help learners build confidence and resilience for success inside and beyond the classroom.

Join a supportive, collaborative team at Norton College and contribute to meaningful learning experiences while delivering tailored education in a permanent, term-time only role. Start date October 2026.

Qualifications

• Qualified with QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant degree required.
• Passionate about SEND education and committed to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
• Experienced in supporting children and young people with additional needs, including Autism and complex learning profiles.
• Patient, resilient and nurturing, with the ability to build positive, trusting relationships.
• Creative and adaptable, able to tailor learning to suit individual strengths and needs.
• A strong team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering engaging, tailored lessons that meet individual learning needs.
• Adapting teaching approaches to support pupils with SEN, including Autism and complex needs.
• Monitoring, assessing and celebrating pupil progress, ensuring every learner reaches their potential.
• Developing and reviewing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.
• Creating a safe, structured and inclusive classroom environment where pupils feel valued and supported.
• Working closely with colleagues, families and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for pupils.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday-Friday | 8:30am - 4:00pm
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: October 2026
