Job summary

Remedy Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced SEN Teacher to join a specialist SEN school in Enfield, supporting a Year 6 class of 12 pupils with diverse needs. The role involves planning engaging lessons with a Year 1–3 ability level and close collaboration with two Teaching Assistants.

SEN Year 6 Teacher - Specialist SEN School

Location: Enfield

Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Pay: Dependent on experience

Remedy Recruitment Group is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to work within a specialist SEN school, supporting a Year 6 class of 12 pupils with a range of additional needs.

The class is supported by two Teaching Assistants, and pupils are working academically at approximately Year 1-3 level. All pupils are verbal, with needs including Autism (ASC), learning difficulties and social communication challenges.

This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who can create an engaging, structured and supportive learning environment, helping pupils develop both academically and socially as they prepare for the next stage of their education.

The Role:

• Teaching a Year 6 class of 12 pupils with additional needs.
• Planning and delivering lessons adapted to pupils working at Year 1-3 ability levels.
• Working closely with two Teaching Assistants to provide tailored support.
• Supporting pupils with autism, learning difficulties and social communication needs.
• Managing behaviour positively and promoting emotional regulation.
• Developing pupils' confidence, independence and social skills.
• Creating a structured classroom environment that encourages engagement and progress.
• Monitoring pupil progress and adapting learning to meet individual needs.
