Job summary

Targeted Provision is seeking SEND tutors and teachers across the UK to deliver Maths, English or Science tuition to disengaged and vulnerable learners with SEND and SEMH needs. Roles are self-employed, with in-person, hybrid, and remote teaching options, and flexible hours to fit your schedule.

You should have at least 2 years of teaching experience, QTS or QTLS, an Enhanced DBS, and two professional references.

  • 2+ years teaching experience with SEND/SEMH/MLD/SLD/PMLD
  • Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)
  • Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references

Responsibilities

  • Provide in person, online / remote, and hybrid tuition in Maths, English, or Science to children and young people with SEMH and SEND needs
  • Plan and report lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress
  • Deliver trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring across KS1–KS5 as appropriate
  • Support local authorities and schools by providing flexible tutoring

SEND Tutor And Teacher Role Requirements
  • Experience: 2+ years teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
  • Subjects: Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
  • Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
  • Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote / online jobs
  • Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment
The SEND Tutor And Teacher Role And Responsibilities
  • Provide in person, online / remote, and hybridMaths, English, or Science tuition to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
  • Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 - KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
  • Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress
  • We are on a mission to raise the standard of education provided to young people with SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties).
