Job summary

Targeted Provision is seeking SEND Tutors and Teachers to work with young people with SEND and SEMH needs across the UK. Roles include Maths, English or Science tuition in person, online, or hybrid settings with flexible hours to fit your schedule.

The position offers competitive pay (£28–£35 per hour), flexible work arrangements, and a trauma-informed approach to support vulnerable learners while you contribute to transformative outcomes in your community.

Qualifications

• 2+ years teaching experience, ideally with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD/PMLD.
• QTS or QTLS certification required.
• Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references.
• UK-based with right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Provide in person, online or hybrid Maths, English or Science tuition to SEND/SEND needs learners.
• Plan lessons, report progress and give regular feedback on student progress.
• Support pupils with SEMH and SEND needs using trauma-informed approaches.

SEND Tutor And Teacher Role Requirements

• Experience: 2+ years teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
• Subjects: Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
• Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
• Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
• Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote / online jobs
• Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment

The SEND Tutor And Teacher Role And Responsibilities

• Provide in person, online / remote, and hybridMaths, English, or Science tuition to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
• Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 - KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
• Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress
• We are on a mission to raise the standard of education provided to young people with SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties).
