Job summary

Polaris Education - Martha H School in Wigan, Lancashire, invites applications for a SEN Teacher to deliver high-quality lessons within the National Curriculum, addressing ASC and SEMH needs.

You will work with a supportive team, monitor pupil progress, manage behaviour, and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment. A QTS and degree-level qualification are required, with SEND experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons within the National Curriculum for pupils with ASC & SEMH needs.
• Support the class team to promote positive behaviours and learning opportunities.
• Report on pupil progress and liaise with staff to meet individual needs.
• Supervise pupils during non-classroom time and assist with trips and activities.

Role Responsibilities

• Responsible for the planning and delivery of high-quality lessons within the National Curriculum whilst meeting the complex ASC & SEMH needs of all pupils
• Supporting the class team in facilitating learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviours
• Reporting on pupils' progress and concerns, and liaising with other school staff to ensure pupils' needs are met
• Supervision of pupils during non-classroom time, including extra-curricular activities and school trips
• Building positive relationships with pupils and driving interaction and positive learning outcomes

Requirements

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Suitable qualification to degree level
• Previous successful teaching experience
• Some previous experience of working with pupils with SEND within an educational setting
• Experience of behaviour management and techniques
• Committed to professional development and willing to learn

Salary: £28,000 - £39,520 depending on experience
