  • Job Title: SEN Teacher
  • Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum (not pro-rata)
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 4.30pm
  • Contract: Permanent, Term Time only
  • Start: July 2025
  • Location: Acorn Park School, Norwich

About the Role

To develop the academic capabilities, social and communication skills, focusing on successful and purposeful learning. To lead the class team by example and direction, ensuring the highest quality of education and care for every pupil.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement schemes of work and lesson plans aligned with the Formal or Semi-Formal Curriculum Pathway.
  2. Ensure adequate planning to deliver high-quality lessons.
  3. Organise the learning environment and develop resources to maximise the learning process.
  4. Establish positive relationships with pupils and develop close, professional relationships with parents/carers.
  5. Use assessment tools effectively and record pupil progress according to school deadlines.
  6. Foster enthusiasm for learning.
  7. Challenge pupils in their learning and support them to achieve their full potential.
  8. Share responsibility for pupils' wellbeing, safety, and behaviour management in line with school policies.
  9. Work collaboratively and supportively with colleagues.
  10. Partner with all stakeholders.
  11. Meet the EHCP needs of pupils.
  12. Develop knowledge of teaching pupils with ASD and share best practices with colleagues.
  13. Keep accurate records in line with school policies.
  14. Maintain good communication with stakeholders.
  15. Maintain a healthy work/life balance.
Qualifications Required
  • GCSE C/4 or above in English and Maths.
  • UK QTS/QTLS or working towards it.
