Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Primary SEN Teacher for a specialist school in Mitcham, South London. You will join a small KS1 class of 3-5 pupils with autism, planning and delivering differentiated lessons tailored to each child’s communication needs.

Ideal candidates will have QTS and experience with autism, PECS, or Makaton, working within a supportive team to foster a calm, structured learning environment where every child can progress.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with TAs, therapists and other professionals.
• Monitor and assess pupil progress.

Are you an enthusiastic and nurturing Primary SEN Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity within a specialist school?

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Primary SEN Teacher to join a specialist SEN school in Mitcham, working within a small KS1 class of just 3-5 pupils, all of whom have autism and are non-verbal.

The Role

You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils with complex autism and communication needs.

The class uses a range of communication approaches, including PECS and Makaton, and candidates with experience in these approaches will be particularly well suited.

You will work closely with an experienced support team to create a calm, structured and positive classroom environment.
