Job summary

Academics is recruiting a SEN Teacher to work on a temporary, flexible ongoing supply basis across Rotherham, South Yorkshire. You will deliver tailored lessons and support pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASC, ADHD and SEMH.

The role requires QTS (or equivalent) and an enhanced DBS. DBS is either in place or applicants must be willing to obtain both Child and Adult DBS certificates. Start ASAP with flexible placements and ongoing consultant support.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience in SEN settings or strong knowledge of specialist education.
  • Enhanced DBS for Child and Adult or willingness to obtain them.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, pupil‑centred lessons in specialist provisions.
  • Adapt learning to meet EHCP targets and individual needs.
  • Support pupils with SEN including ASC, ADHD, SEMH, SLD, PMLD.
  • Promote positive behaviour and independence.
  • Work with teaching assistants, therapists and other professionals.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and maintain accurate records.

SEN Teacher - Rotherham - Education and Training

Are you a dedicated SEN Teacher looking for flexible teaching opportunities across Rotherham?

Academics, an established Education Agency, are acting as an agency and are recruiting an experienced SEN Teacher to work on a temporary, ongoing supply basis across a variety of specialist SEN provisions throughout Rotherham.

This opportunity offers the chance to support children and young people with a range of additional needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, SLD, PMLD and communication needs. Some specialist provisions include Post-16 learners, therefore an Enhanced Child and Adult DBS is required, or applicants must be willing to obtain both.

Position: SEN Teacher
Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire
Contract: Temporary, flexible ongoing supply
Pay: 145 - 220 per day (paid via PAYE, no umbrella company fees, inclusive of holiday pay, dependent on experience, training, qualifications and client rate available)
Start Date: ASAP or a start date that works for you

About the Role

You will plan and deliver engaging lessons that are tailored to pupils' individual learning needs within specialist educational settings.

The SEN Teacher role in involves working closely with teaching assistants and other professionals to support pupils' academic, social and emotional development whilst promoting positive behaviour and independence.

Candidate Requirements

  • Enhanced Child and Adult DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain both)
