Job summary

Randstad Education in Sussex is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEN across several settings. You will work closely with teachers to enable learners to access the curriculum, provide 1:1 and small-group support, and help create an inclusive, caring environment.

The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, term-time only, with a supportive team, regular pay reviews, and access to fully funded training and qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Be able to support learners with various SEN needs.
  • Previous Care, education or childcare experience (desirable).
  • Personal or professional experience of SEN.
  • Be confident to support the lead in groups, in different educational subjects.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • GCSE Maths and English at pass grade.

Responsibilities

  • Assist students during class, ensuring they stay on track.
  • Liaise with class teacher for smooth running of the class.
  • Supervision of children during playtimes and lunch breaks.
  • Enable learners to access the curriculum.
  • Support the pastoral needs of the learners.
  • Be an active part in setting the learning environment.
  • Support learners on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Use interests to engage students in learning.

We work with a popular education trust in Sussex that oversees 5 schools. We are looking for a specialist TA that can offer specialist TA support in there settings.

These incredible SEND schools specialises in education for children ages 5 to 16 years with complex SEN needs such as speech and language difficulties and Autism.

I am currently recruiting for a teaching assistant who is dedicated and committed to providing the best guidance and support throughout the day for the school's students.

This role is needed on a full time basis. Working Monday-Friday 08:30-4:00pm. This role is term time only.

Your responsibilities include:
