GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and reliable SEN Support Worker to join a welcoming school in Wareham. In this role, you will provide essential support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them thrive both academically and socially.
About the Role:
As an SEN Support Worker, you will work alongside teachers to provide tailored assistance to students with SEN. Your support will help students engage in lessons, build their confidence, and develop essential life skills. Whether you are supporting one-on-one or in small groups, your role is crucial in ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed.
What You Will Do:
• Offer individual or small group support to students with SEN.
• Assist teachers in adapting lessons to meet students' specific needs.
• Provide emotional support to students, helping them navigate challenges and develop social skills.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and welcoming classroom environment.
• Assist with classroom organisation and encourage positive behaviour.
• Track students’ progress and share observations with teachers to ensure continuous improvement.
What’s Needed for This Role:
• Previous experience supporting students with SEN, ideally in a school setting.
• A genuine passion for helping students succeed academically and socially.
• Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with teachers and students.
• Adaptability to meet each student's unique learning needs.
• A CV covering the last ten years (with no unexplained gaps).
• An enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
