Job description

SEN Support Worker – Full-Time – Skelmersdale

Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs? We are recruiting for an SEN Support Worker to join a specialist school in Skelmersdale, starting as soon as possible.

As an SEN Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping students with complex learning needs, including autism and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. The role involves:

  1. Providing 1:1 and small group support to students with additional needs
  2. Assisting with personal care, including toileting and hygiene, where necessary
  3. Promoting independence and positive social interactions
  4. Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour management
  5. Working collaboratively with teachers and therapists to implement tailored learning plans

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  1. Experience in SEN, care, or support work (or a willingness to learn)
  2. A compassionate and patient approach
  3. The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
  4. A willingness to assist with personal care needs as part of the role
