Location: Bovington
Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you want to make a lasting difference in their educational journey?

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated and caring SEN Support Worker to work in schools across Bovington. This role offers an opportunity to provide one-to-one or small group support to students with additional learning needs, helping them build confidence, develop life skills, and thrive in the classroom.

About the Role:

As a SEN Support Worker, you will be supporting students with a range of needs, including autism, learning difficulties, or speech and language delays. Your role will be crucial in helping pupils feel included, engaged, and supported in their learning environment. Working closely with the SENCO and class teachers, you will follow personalised education plans and implement strategies to meet the individual needs of the students.

Responsibilities of an SEN Support Worker:

  • Provide in-class and one-to-one support for students with SEN.
  • Assist with developing learning resources tailored to student needs.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment.
  • Help manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours where required.
  • Track and report on student progress and wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies.
  • Encourage independence and support the development of life skills.

What we need from an SEN Support Worker:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN in an educational setting.
  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ in Childcare or Education, or equivalent (desirable).
  • A degree in Psychology, Counselling, Education or a similar field.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
