Job summary

Morgan Hunt is recruiting a SEN Support Assistant to provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN in East London. This role focuses on personal care and helping students engage with learning activities under the guidance of teachers.

We are seeking patient, empathetic individuals with experience in caring settings, able to work as part of a team, and willing to undertake training including moving and handling.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people (SEN, care, healthcare, nursery, or similar).
• Patient, empathetic and resilient.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and undertake training.
• Experience with ASD, PMLD, or complex needs.
• Moving & Handling / Hoist training.
• Background in care, support work, or health.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN.
• Assist with personal care needs (toileting, feeding, changing, mobility).
• Support students with communication and emotional regulation.
• Work alongside teachers to adapt learning activities.
• Use specialist equipment where required (e.g. hoists, sensory tools).
• Promote dignity, independence and wellbeing at all times.
• Monitor and record student progress.
