Job summary

SCL is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant in Doncaster to help a pupil with SEN access learning opportunities and develop confidence. The role involves in-class and 1:1 support, building a strong rapport, and providing consistent pastoral care.

You will work under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO, contributing to IEPs, learning activities, and inclusion strategies, while promoting safeguarding and welfare throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting a pupil with SEN
• Ability to build rapport and provide consistent support
• Comfort with behaviour management strategies
• Collaboration with teachers and SENCO to implement IEPs

Responsibilities

• Clarify and explain instructions to the pupil
• Support learning in group and 1:1 settings
• Use praise and feedback to help concentration
• Liaise with class teacher, SENCO and other professionals about IEPs
• Contribute to planning and delivery of education plans
• Provide nurture and support for the pupil's social development
• Mark pupil's work under the direction of the class teacher
• Promote inclusion and interaction with peers
• Maintain health, safety and safeguarding policies in learning environments
