Job summary

Vision for Education is seeking a caring SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a mainstream school in March. You will provide 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs, helping them access learning and feel included at school.

You’ll work closely with the class teacher and SENCO, supporting the pupil and other learners, with a focus on positive behaviour and development of social skills.

Qualifications

• Patient, calm, reliable and passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
• Experience with SEN including ASD or ADHD is advantageous.
• Able to build positive relationships and provide consistent support.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent 1:1 SEN support.
• Help make learning accessible and engaging for pupils.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Work towards the pupil’s EHCP targets.
• Encourage confidence, independence and social skills.
