Are you passionate about supporting young people and making a difference in their education? Our lovely secondary school located in Romford is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Support Assistant to join our supportive team.
As an SEN Support Assistant, you will be working with pupils aged 11-15 who have a range of additional needs including ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, and behavioural challenges. You will be supporting these pupils both academically and emotionally to help them thrive in a mainstream secondary school environment.
This is a full-time role (Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm) and part-time applicants will not be considered, as the school requires consistency to ensure the best possible outcomes for our pupils.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN
Help manage behaviour in class and create a positive learning environment
Support pupils with personal development and social interaction
Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to implement support strategies
Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour
What we're looking for:
A committed and caring SEN Support Assistant with experience or a passion for working with students with additional needs
Someone with excellent communication skills and a patient, adaptable approach
Ability to build strong relationships with students and staff
Previous school-based experience or relevant qualifications are desirable
