Job summary

St Thomas’ C of E Primary Academy in Boston is seeking an SEN Support Assistant to support children with Education and Health Care Plans (EHCPs). The role is fixed-term whilst the pupil remains in school, part-time at 30 hours per week during term time (39 weeks) with training days.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of EHCPs.
  • Experience of supporting children with SEN/D would be advantageous; training will be provided.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing needs.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with EHCPs across year groups.
  • Carry out interventions and support learning as directed by the SENCo.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide a calm, inclusive classroom environment.

Salary: G3 6 - G3 9 £19,719.42-£20,668.17 (Actual Salary)

Contract Type: Fixed-Term whilst child remains in school

Working Hours: 30 hours per week, Part-Time, term time only (39 weeks, term time plus training days). Monday - Friday (8:45am - 3:15pm)

St Thomas’ C of E Primary Academy is seeking to appoint an SEN Support Assistant to support children with Education and Health Care Plans (EHCPs). If you are someone who believes that all pupils regardless of their personal circumstances can excel and you have the ability to engage, enthuse and inspire our young people, then this job is for you!

We are looking for someone who can provide the care and support our children need, as well as carrying out interventions to support with their Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The successful candidate will work across different year groups in school and demonstrate adaptability by supporting a range of children with varying needs (including cognition, communication and SEMH needs). Experience of supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities is essential; however, training and ongoing support will be provided for the successful candidate.

The successful applicant will have:

  • The knowledge of how to support pupils with additional needs.

  • Be able to work as part of team as well as using your initiative.
  • Be willing to adapt and be flexible to changing circumstances.
