About the Role

A primary school in Bolton is seeking to appoint a committed and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support Assistant to support a group of pupils across KS2. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a genuine passion for inclusive education to work closely with pupils requiring additional support, both one-to-one and in small groups.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with class teachers and the SENDCo to help deliver tailored learning programmes, assist with classroom management, and provide encouragement and structure to pupils with a variety of needs including ASC and ADHD.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide direct support to pupils with SEN, ensuring access to learning and promoting positive engagement

- Implement individualised support strategies in line with existing pupil support plans

- Collaborate with teaching staff to track and review pupil progress

- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all pupils feel valued

- Assist with general classroom duties

Person Specification

  • Experience working with or supporting children with special educational needs
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A patient, adaptable, and nurturing approach
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Experience within a primary school or alternative educational setting
  • Knowledge of specific SEN strategies or interventions
