SEN Intervention Support Assistant (Lower KS2)

Join our dynamic team of educators and support a small group of children in a local Bolton-based primary school as a SEN Intervention Support Assistant and help provide a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for their Lower KS2 pupils!

Position: SEN Intervention Support Assistant
Location: Bolton, Greater Manchester
Contract Type: Full-time (08:30-15:30), term time only
Salary: £13.75-£14.50 per hour
Start Date: ASAP

Role Overview:
As a SEN Intervention Support Assistant, you will work closely with children in Lower Key Stage 2 (KS2), providing tailored interventions and support to help them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. You will be a key part of a dedicated team, working alongside teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to deliver high-quality support for pupils with a variety of learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to children with SEN (Special Educational Needs) within Lower KS2.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored interventions to improve pupil progress.
  • Help create a positive and engaging classroom environment.
  • Support the development of pupils’ social and emotional skills.
  • Work alongside teaching staff to monitor and assess individual pupil progress.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Encourage and promote independence in learning for all students.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with children, particularly those with SEN, is desirable.
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting children’s needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for helping children succeed in their learning and personal development.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., TA qualification, Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) would be beneficial.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
