Job summary

EmpowerED, in partnership with a welcoming SEN school in Berkshire, is seeking an experienced SEN Teacher to join a new provision supporting pupils with complex needs.

You will lead a small class, deliver differentiated lessons, and plan with allocated PPA time. The role emphasizes calm, nurturing teaching, behaviour support, and collaboration with the leadership team to drive progress.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching pupils with complex SEND needs.
• Proficient in PECS, Makaton or AAC communication systems.
• Experience delivering continuous provision approaches.
• Ability to support pupils with challenging behavior.
• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small class of pupils with complex SEN.
• Plan and deliver engaging, highly differentiated lessons.
• Provide allocated PPA time and contribute to topic planning.
