Job summary

Academics is seeking a compassionate Complex Needs Assistant for a Specialist SEN School in Tilehurst, Berkshire. This full-time role starts ASAP and involves 1:1 and small group pupil support across the school day.

You will work with teachers and specialist staff to help pupils engage with learning, develop independence and access school life in a safe, supportive environment. Prior SEN or education experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN) and supporting learning.
• Ability to provide 1:1 and small group support.
• Adapt activities and communication to individual needs.
• Support social, emotional and communication development.
• Willingness to assist with personal care and daily routines.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex needs.
• Assist pupils with their learning and engagement in classroom activities.
