Vision for Education are recruiting a caring Specialist Teaching Assistant to work in a welcoming primary school in Grays. You will support children with SEN, providing tailored 1:1 and small-group help to access the curriculum and participate in lessons.

The role emphasizes patience, resilience and a nurturing approach, with collaboration alongside teachers and SENCOs. Experience in SEN or similar settings is desirable, and safeguarding awareness is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEN or additional needs.
• Experience within a primary school setting or specialist provision.
• Calm, nurturing and positive approach.
• Ability to build strong relationships with children and support positive behaviour.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to primary-aged pupils with SEN.
• Support pupils with ASD, ADHD, and other needs as appropriate.
• Help pupils access the curriculum through adapted activities and individualised support.
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and social development.
• Support pupils to develop independence, confidence and essential life skills.
• Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to meet pupil needs.
