Job summary

Academics Ltd is partnering with a welcoming primary school in Redbridge to recruit a committed Specialist SEND Learning Support Assistant. The role focuses on 1:1 support for children with complex needs, including autism, to build confidence and essential life skills.

The position offers an immediate start and runs through to July 2027, with potential for permanence for the right candidate. Daily pay ranges from 95 to 115 depending on experience, with ongoing guidance from an Academics

Academics are working alongside a welcoming primary school in Redbridge who are seeking a committed Specialist SEND Learning Support Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys providing individualised support and wants to help children overcome barriers to learning, build confidence and develop essential life skills.

The position is available for an immediate start and will continue until July 2027, with the possibility of a permanent opportunity for the right candidate.

You will be working closely with pupils on a 1:1 basis, supporting children with a range of complex additional needs, including autism, global developmental delay, communication difficulties and sensory needs. Building trust and understanding each child's individual requirements will be a key part of the role, helping them feel secure, valued and able to participate in school life.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Previous experience working with children with SEND, preferably within a primary school or similar setting.
• Knowledge or understanding of autism, developmental delays, communication needs and complex additional needs.
• A caring and understanding nature, with the ability to adapt your approach to different children.
• Confidence in supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviour.
• A genuine commitment to making education accessible and enjoyable for every child.
