Job summary

Targeted Provision seeks experienced SEND tutors and teachers to work with schools and local authorities, delivering Maths, English or Science tuition to students with SEMH and SEND needs. Roles are self-employed, offering flexible hours and remote, hybrid or in-person teaching across the UK.

You will plan lessons, monitor progress, adapt to trauma-informed approaches, and collaborate with our SEND support team to raise standards for vulnerable learners in your community.

Qualifications

• 2+ years teaching experience with SEND/SEMH/MLD/SLD/PMLD in a trauma-informed setting
• Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
• Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references
• Based in the UK with the right to work (including for remote roles)
• Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment

Responsibilities

• Provide in person, online/remote, and hybrid Maths, English, or Science tuition to learners with SEMH and SEND needs
• Support pupils from KS1 to KS5 with trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
• Plan and report lessons and provide progress feedback
• Contribute to raising standards for SEND and SEMH needs across the learners you support

SEND Tutor And Teacher Role Requirements

• Experience: 2+ years teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
• Subjects: Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
• Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
• Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
• Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote / online jobs
• Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment

The SEND Tutor And Teacher Role And Responsibilities

• Provide in person, online / remote, and hybridMaths, English, or Science tuition to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
• Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 - KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
• Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress
• We are on a mission to raise the standard of education provided to young people with SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties).
