Job summary

Targeted Provision is seeking Core Subject SEND Tutors and Teachers (Maths, English, or Science) to transform the lives of disengaged and vulnerable learners in the UK. Roles include in-person, hybrid and remote teaching, with flexible hours and a focus on trauma-informed support.

Applicants should have 2+ years teaching experience, QTS/QTLS, enhanced DBS, and be based in the UK with the right to work. The position is self-employed and offers competitive hourly pay and a supportive team

Qualifications

• 2+ years teaching experience with SEND/SEMH/MLD/SLD/PMLD preferred.
• Qualified to teach English, Maths or Science.
• Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references.

Responsibilities

• Provide Maths, English or Science tuition in person, online or hybrid to learners with SEMH and SEND needs.
• Plan and deliver flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring for KS1–KS5.
• Plan and report lessons and provide regular progress feedback.
• Contribute to safeguarding and create a safe learning environment.

SEND Tutor And Teacher Role Requirements

• Experience: 2+ years teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
• Subjects: Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
• Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
• Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
• Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote / online jobs
• Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment

The SEND Tutor And Teacher Role And Responsibilities

• Provide in person, online / remote, and hybridMaths, English, or Science tuition to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
• Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 - KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
• Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress
• We are on a mission to raise the standard of education provided to young people with SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties).
