Job summary

Targeted Provision in the United Kingdom is seeking Core Subject SEND Tutors and Teachers to transform the lives of disengaged and vulnerable learners with SEND and SEMH needs. You will deliver Maths, English, or Science tuition in person, online, or hybrid settings.

This self-employed role offers flexible hours and environments to support learners aged KS1–KS5, with a supportive SEND team and CPD mentoring. Prior QTS/QTLS and an Enhanced DBS are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of teaching experience, with SEND/SEMH/MLD/SLD/PMLD experience preferred.
• Familiarity with teaching English, Maths, or Science.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS) required.
• Enhanced DBS and two professional references.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person, online or hybrid Maths, English or Science tutoring to learners with SEMH and SEND needs.
• Plan and deliver trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring across KS1–KS5 as appropriate.
• Plan lessons and report progress with regular feedback to pupils and authorities.
• Support safeguarding and create a safe learning environment.

SEND Tutor And Teacher Role Requirements

• Experience: 2+ years teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
• Subjects: Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
• Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
• Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
• Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote / online jobs
• Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment

The SEND Tutor And Teacher Role And Responsibilities

• Provide in person, online / remote, and hybridMaths, English, or Science tuition to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
• Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 - KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
• Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress
• We are on a mission to raise the standard of education provided to young people with SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties).
